CCE joins N.C. Children's Hospital in celebrating 175 days without a non-ICU/ED pediatric cardiac arrest
Four years ago, the faculty and staff of N.C. Children's Hospital set out to reduce the number of pediatric cardiac arrests through the use of the Pediatric Rapid Response System. They have achieved impressive results, and today (11/8/09) marks the 175th day without a non-ICU/ED cardiac arrest at the Children's Hospital. Over the past 175 days, faculty, staff, students, and families at the Children's Hospital have placed 43 Pediatric Rapid Response calls. Thanks to their dedication to patient safety and the hard work of the responding teams, arrests have been prevented and lives have been saved.
We join with the Children's Hospital and all who have contributed to the care of our pediatric patients in celebrating this remarkable achievement. Thank you for your hard work and continued efforts!
